Hot Water System FAQ:

I have an indirect hot water heating system. The boiler cooks the water and puts it in a storage tank. The boiler is works on oil. When the technician came to do a tune-up I said the water wasn’t very hot. He said to call a plumber to raise the thermostat. Besides dumping the oil company because there technicians are lazy I see a panel on the tank. I was told it might be behind this rectangular panel. Can that be done by somebody handy or do a need to call a plumber?

Hot Water System FAQ:

am trying to figure out why my utility bill is higher than last year, even though i am not around most of the time this year. I think I left my water heater at HOT (that is the middle setting i think), for most of Dec-Jan , but now I have turned it to LOW when I am out of the home. The thermostat was mostly at 58F during the night and day, but at times 64-68F. So wondering which is costing me more..

Hot Water System FAQ:

The pressure on the cold side is fine. The water heater is the only factor that I can see as the culprit. I have soft water due to a super water softener system. I tried putting the system in bypass and got the same results. Any idea/suggestions? Thanks.
