Hot Water System FAQ:

Hi- the apt I live in has a hot water baseboard heating system. I turned the thermostat to 75 degrees but nothing happens, I feel no heat. The baseboards are cold & I don’t even hear any water circulating.

Can you tell me in layman’s terms, please, what I can do to try to fix this myself asap before resorting to calling my landlord?

Thank you.
If you’re not going to offer any assistance, then why the useless commentary, Joker?

Hot Water System FAQ:

I have a cabin that I let others use. It has in-wall electric heaters that each have their own breaker. Occasionally, someone forgets to turn them off at the breaker box when they leave and they could be a fire hazard. Is there a somewhat inexpensive way to be able to shut them off from a remote location? I live 5 hours away, so I cannot do it. There is a phone to the cabin, if that helps. I am willing to replace the heaters and/or the breakers. Also, I considered different heaters that are less prone to hazard, but we need fast heat so something like a hot-water baseboard system wouldn’t work. Thanks.
