Hot Water System FAQ:

We have, I guess, a standard central heating system with a radiator in each room. The trouble is that all of them are cold. The control box is showing that both the heating and hot water are on and I am getting hot water through the taps, but absolutely no hot water in the radiator system. Why is this happening or indeed not happening?

how can i drain a directly (mains) fed plumbing system?

Hot Water System FAQ:

Hi all
I need to fit a new bath in a flat, but the cold water supply comes directly from the mains, and the hot water is from a cylinder.

as such, when i turn off the mains water and the hot water tap coming out of the cylinder, then turn on the taps on the bath, no water comes out.

Does this mean that I can start working on the bath replacement? There must still be water in the pipes all the way up to the taps. Does this matter? Is there any way I can drain it out that I’m not thinking of?

Basically, I just need to know if i can work on pipes that have (non-flowing) water in them?

THanks
M

Hot Water System FAQ:

The amount of water coming from the hot taps is less than a 3rd it’s normal quantity. I cannot work out what is wrong with the plumming/gas central heating system in my house. All I know is that the problem seemed to happen after I left one of the hot taps running for a very long time. We have a water tank upstairs but nothing seems wrong. Someone mentioned to me that it could be something wrong with a pump. Could this be the problem. Where would the pump be?

Anyone know why this is happening?
