Hot Water System FAQ:

I’m purchasing a home with a incomplete baseboard hot water heating system. Most of the piping is in place, as is the heating unit itself.

I would like to replace the baseboard system with a force air system using convectors in each room. Since the convectors can be used for both heating and cooling is there an independent, stand alone cooling unit I can purchase to integrate with the present heating system?

And if you can provide the make and model number of this unit and that of a heat/cool convector it would be greatly appreciated.

Hot Water System FAQ:

I have a radiant (hot water) heating system in my 1900 house. The registers downstairs get nice and warm, but the smaller ones upstairs do not, leaving our bedrooms cold. All the valves are open. What might be the problem and or solution?

Hot Water System FAQ:

I have hot water heating system in my house. I’ve noticed just recently that I can hear what sounds like water flowing and dripping inside different pipes throughout the house. It’s never made this noise before and I’ve been living there about 2 years now. It only lasts about 10 or 15 minutes then I can’t hear it anymore. It sounds like there’s a little stream of water dripping from one pipe to another. Is this bad?
