How long must a 10 gallon per minute pump run in order to filter the water two times through the system for an ordinary sized hot tub?

How much water can your tub hold?
It be helpful if I got feedback on what people have, so I can average it?

I bought a 2yr old Thermo Spa. The people were using the Soft Soak system and that’s what I’ve been using in it too. But it’s so nasty! There’s brown gunk and slimy pieces of what look like skin floating all through it. The filter is brand new and the water got gross only two or three days after I filled it. What is all the gunk? And what’s the best way to treat/clear it up? The people that test my water at the spa place keep telling me to PH down it and shock it. I keep doing this but it’s not working.

I want to build a batch heater or a passive coil system on a painted black corrugated metal backing. But I want to be able to stop the flow when the water gets to a set temp. It would be great to be able to just put in a car radiator thermostat but it would allow the water to get too hot.
