Hot Water System FAQ:


we have new large home w/open floor plan, 9ft ceilings and 2-story entry/atrium. hot water cast iron baseboard heat poorly installed, prob not enough running feet. cost fortune to heat house, even tho we use the 3 zones efficiently and keep temps on lower side. house also has forced hot air system/unit but it was never hooked up. any suggestions on how to make current system more efficient?
would hooking up & running the forced hot air be cheaper?

When turning on Kitchen Sink, Bathroom Sink, and shower or tub for hot water having the oddest issue getting the smallest stream of hot water in all. Any idea what I should be checking? We did just have a heating system issue which they came out and fixed but now we have this water issue. Obviously im going to call the company to come back out if needed but I wanted to have some info before they come so they dont say its something worse than it is. I definetly have hot water coming out but at such a low flow. Im assuming maybe there is some faucet that they didnt turn back after shutting it off while working on the heating system (baseboard oil heat). Any thoughts?

my first problem with my gas hot water boiler is resolved, thanks to all of you, ur advises were well appreciated. once again need help, my heat system in my house using baseboards, is working just fine. but my basement is cold, am I missing something? have no baseboards in there. any ideas. thx
